Curriculum, language and accreditation
Three technical questions decide the shortlist more than reputation does:
- Curriculum. The corridor offers the International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge (IGCSE and A-Levels), the American system with AP, the British system, and bilingual models built on a reinforced national curriculum.
- Where they will apply afterwards. For British universities, a Cambridge or IB profile is directly recognised. For United States universities, AP and SAT carry more weight. For continental European universities, the IB tends to be the common denominator.
- Language of instruction. Some schools operate fully in English from preschool, others are bilingual with a Spanish–English balance, and a few are trilingual, adding French, German or Mandarin.
